Oh, I’m looking forward to looking out for these! I’m not really comfortable yet foraging in the woodlands around here because there are a lot of dogs but my garden offers up plenty of weeds too 😅

Pineapple weed likes compacted soil, so you never know, you may find it on ya well trodden path in your garden!

I used to have garlic mustard in my old garden. It's a good one for dog heavy places too, as you can take the top leaves (unless you have an especially large great dane around they should be safe from pee!)

Incidentally a very good plant identification app I use is called Picture This (Plants). caution apps are not 100% all of the time. It is a good idea to use a field guide also.

Whilst out seeking plants why not consider recording them on another app called iRecord. The records automatically go to your county recorder for verification.

I need to check on the pineapple weed here, I suspect it will be a bit behind yours still. I think I've told you before, but it's Benji's favourite tea - a really good one for kids (especially because of the calming properties!!). I love garlic mustard seeds, there's loads of it here, so will try and remember to gather some this year. Emma x

Oooh let me know what you think! The wild garlic has often passed me by like that in the past. We're lucky that we have a big, mostly untrodden woods near us which seems to STILL have some WG ripe for picking! Determined to get down there and make one last batch of pesto before going away...
