From today, the days will get longer and the nights will get shorter. That’s because today marks the Winter Solstice, the day the sun is at its lowest in the sky (in the Northern Hemisphere).
Despite the fact it’s the shortest day of the year, I’d like to encourage you to spend some time with your journal today, reflecting on days past and thinking about the brighter days to come.

Here are some Winter Solstice prompts for you…
What has stood out to you in nature this December? Have you learnt anything new? If not, what are you curious about right now?
What’s one thing you’d really like to do between now and Imbolc (1st Feb 2024)? How can you make this happen?
What are you most looking forward to in 2024?
How will you find ways to rest and recuperate this festive season?
Will you celebrate the Winter Solstice this weekend? If so, how?
Look into Winter Solstice events, traditions and activities from around the world - are there any you’d like to try yourself?
I’ll be (by chance) spending the Solstice with friends. Candles will be lit, glasses will be clinked, a feast will be shared.
shared a beautiful post this week called ‘Keeping the Long Midwinter’ and shared some ways to celebrate the year's darkest days…However you celebrate, whatever you celebrate, I wish you a restful and enjoyable time over the next week. I’ll be back in your inbox on 5th January with some facts about the greenery we bring into our homes over the festive season.
Thank you so much for your support in 2023, particularly if you have commented on a post, sent me a message or paid for my time. I appreciate each and every one of you.

This is beautiful Zabby and thank you for sharing those pages from your journal--I’ll definitely be getting a copy of Glennie Kindred’s book in the new year. It was lovely catching up with you yesterday! Have a calm and restful end to the year xx
